Why choose Bluebird

Roles we recruit for

We provide contractors with deep experience in the following roles.

  • Program managers

Program managers lead and oversee multiple projects within a program. They develop program strategies, manage resources and ensure alignment with organisational goals. They also monitor project performance and mitigate risks.

  • Project managers

Project managers lead projects from inception to completion, planning, executing and finalising them on time and within budget. They acquire resources and coordinate team members and any third-party contractors or consultants to deliver to plan. They define the project's objectives, oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, and manage communication with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

  • Project support officers

Project support officers provide administrative and logistical support to project managers and teams, including scheduling meetings, maintaining project documentation and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

  • Product managers

Product managers manage the development and life cycle of a product from conception to launch. They conduct market research, define product requirements, prioritise features and work with cross-functional teams to deliver successful products.

  • Business analysts

Business analysts identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems. They analyse data, gather and document requirements, facilitate communication between organisational units, and help design or modify business systems and IT solutions. Their work includes market analysis, process improvement, strategic planning and policy development. They work closely with stakeholders to understand their objectives, plan how to achieve them, and translate them into functional specifications for IT or operational teams.

  • Technical strategists

Technical strategists help organisations align technology, data, AI, cyber security and digital transformation initiatives with their strategic objectives. They bridge the gap between business leaders and technical delivery teams, providing trusted advice on technology investments, enterprise architecture, operating models, digital roadmaps and innovation opportunities. They work closely with executives, business stakeholders, architects, engineers and project teams to develop practical strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes, manage risk and enable future growth.

  • Solution architects

Solution architects develop and implement systems architecture that meets business needs. They bridge the gap between business problems and technology, finding the best solution among the options available. Their work includes detailed solution design, cost estimation and system adaptation to ensure new and existing systems work together.

  • Enterprise architects

Enterprise architects shape an organisation's overall IT structure and processes, aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands. They design and lead the implementation of IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are scalable, sustainable and reliable, and that they support business development and growth.

  • Data architects

Data architects design and manage large electronic databases to store and organise data. They focus on data migration, database structure and integration with data services so the organisation benefits from robust, scalable and efficient data ecosystems. They define how and where data is stored, consumed, integrated and managed across data entities and IT systems.

  • Data modellers

Data modellers design, document and maintain enterprise data models that support business operations, analytics, AI initiatives and digital transformation programs. They work closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts and engineers to ensure organisational data is structured, governed and aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Change managers

Change managers lead the change management process, ensuring changes within an organisation are implemented smoothly and successfully and that the lasting benefits of change are achieved. They focus on the human side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisation structures. They work with stakeholders to increase benefit realisation, value creation and return on investment, while reducing resistance to change and addressing its impact on culture and people.

  • Cost modellers

Cost modellers develop and use cost models to estimate and analyse the costs of project proposals, products or services. They draw on a range of data sources and analytical tools to predict the costs of a project's scope, materials, labour and other expenditure. Their models support decision-making with detailed cost insights and by identifying financial risks, and they work with engineering, procurement and finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting.

  • Cloud engineers

Cloud engineers design, implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, reliability and security in cloud environments.

  • Data engineers

Data engineers design, develop and maintain scalable data platforms, pipelines and integration solutions that enable trusted, secure and accessible data across the organisation. They transform raw data into curated information products that support reporting, analytics, AI and operational decision-making.

  • Developers

Developers write, test and debug software programs and applications. They work with team members to design and implement software solutions that meet business needs.

  • Testers

Testers evaluate software applications to ensure they function correctly and meet quality standards. They design and run test plans, report defects and verify fixes.

  • Business case authors

Business case authors analyse business opportunities, gather relevant data and develop comprehensive business cases to support decision-making within organisations.

  • Data scientists

Data scientists analyse complex data to uncover insights and trends that inform business decisions. They use statistical analysis, machine learning and data mining techniques to extract knowledge from data.

  • AI engineers

AI engineers design, develop, deploy and maintain artificial intelligence solutions that help organisations automate processes, improve decision-making and unlock value from data. They combine expertise in software engineering, data science, machine learning and cloud technologies to build AI models, integrate them into business systems, and ensure they operate securely, reliably and ethically. They may work on solutions such as generative AI assistants, predictive analytics, computer vision, natural language processing and intelligent automation. They are responsible for the end-to-end AI life cycle, including data preparation, model training, testing, deployment, monitoring, governance and continuous improvement, ensuring AI capabilities deliver measurable business outcomes while complying with privacy, security and regulatory requirements.

  • Data analysts

Data analysts interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. They develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies to improve data quality and efficiency.

  • Cyber security analysts

Cyber security analysts protect computer systems and networks from cyber security threats. They monitor security systems, analyse security breaches and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.

Our mission

At Bluebird, we connect talent with opportunity, empowering government, businesses and individuals to thrive by matching the right people with the right roles. We are committed to understanding the unique needs and aspirations of every client and candidate, and to partnerships built on trust, integrity and an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence. Our mission is to be the best connector in the Australian marketplace, matching top talent with important and impactful work for our clients.

Our values

Passion, authenticity, empathy and integrity are more than just words to us. They are the guiding principles behind everything we do. We foster an environment where these values flourish, so we can build strong relationships with clients and candidates alike.

For employers

We are not just about filling positions; we are about creating meaningful connections. We take the time to truly understand the needs and aspirations of both our clients and candidates, so that every match we make is the right fit.

  1. Access to talent. We have access to a wide network of candidates, including people who are not actively looking for a new role but could be a great fit for your organisation. This extends your reach well beyond a traditional job advertisement.
  2. Time saving. We handle the time-consuming work of sourcing, screening and shortlisting candidates, freeing your team to focus on other priorities.
  3. Expertise and specialisation. We specialise in specific industries and job families, giving you deep insight into the market and your hiring needs. Our expertise helps you find candidates with the right skills, experience and cultural fit.
  4. Reduced hiring risk. We use rigorous screening to assess candidates' qualifications, experience and suitability for the role, reducing the risk of hiring mistakes and ensuring you choose from a pool of qualified candidates.
  5. Cost efficiency. Recruitment services do come with fees, but the cost is often outweighed by the time and resources saved. A poor hire can cost far more in the long run than investing in professional recruitment.
  6. Flexibility. We adapt to your hiring needs, whether you need temporary staff for a short-term project or permanent employees for long-term roles. We can also help with volume hiring during peak periods or expansions.
  7. Market insights. We provide insight into market trends, salary benchmarks and competitor activity, helping you stay competitive in attracting talent.
  8. Streamlined process. From arranging interviews to negotiating offers, we handle the logistics of hiring, making the experience smooth and efficient for you and your candidates.
  9. Confidentiality. When discretion matters, such as for executive roles or confidential projects, we maintain confidentiality throughout the hiring process.
  10. Long-term partnership. Over time we get to know your organisation's culture, values and hiring preferences, which makes each future placement even more effective.

For contractors and candidates

We provide the following support for our people.

  • On-the-job coaching and support. We support and guide our candidates throughout their placement, including on-the-job coaching to help them develop new skills, perform at their best and work through any challenges in their role.
  • Security clearance sponsorship and police checks. Many roles require security clearances or police checks. Where required, we sponsor security clearances and arrange police checks, so candidates meet the requirements and can pursue opportunities with confidence.
  • Monthly pay. We pay our contractors monthly, providing timely, consistent payment that makes it easy to budget and plan.
